When Don Fortner preached these sermons through the book of Ephesians he began with this introduction:
‘This is an illustrious book, setting forth solid truths of the faith. It deals most clearly with the heavenly and soul comforting doctrines of grace; divine predestination, eternal election, substitutionary redemption, peace and pardon by the blood of Christ, conversion by the effectual working of the Holy Spirit, and salvation by the free grace of God in opposition to human works. It also gives instruction concerning the nature and usefulness of the gospel ministry and the gifts qualifying men for the ministry. The epistle is concluded by demonstrating the effects of the gospel in the hearts and lives of God’s people, and gives solemn instruction concerning the duties of Christians in all areas of life.’
Don was a preacher who pointed his listeners to Christ and this series through Ephesians is no different.
