John Colquhoun was a minister in the Church of Scotland in the early1800s. He was greatly influenced by Thomas Boston, and his book ‘Fourfold State’. He was a ‘Marrow man’ in theology and this book requires discerning reading. However he does correctly distinguish between natural, legal and evangelical repentance.
