John Piper, now the Chancellor of Bethlehem College and Seminary in Minneapolis, gives 30 reasons to love and appreciate the Apostle Paul. His esteem does not amount to idolatry as he says, ‘I love him for the Christ he shows me’. But he then goes on to set out his aim of noting features of Paul’s character and life that authentically commend to us that he is a trustworthy witness and his words are true. It is a very personal list of reasons that Piper brings, but full of charm as well as profit for that reason.
